Welcome to Sims-Kemper Clinical Counseling & Recovery Services. Founded in 1989, we offer evaluations, individual counseling, outpatient group counseling, intensive outpatient treatment, aftercare and relapse prevention and many other services for addictive disorders. Serving northeast Kansas for 22 years, our qualified and caring staff provides a licensed treatment program for men, women and adolescents.
The program is designed to help individuals overcome their denial and understand the addictive disease concept; to recognize the symptoms of withdrawal and Post Acute Withdrawal; to understand the biological, psychological, and sociological effects of chemical dependency; to utilize stress management techniques in such areas as family dynamics, financial problem solving, and the workplace; to recognize and interrupt the relapse progression that exists before active relapse occurs; to develop an understanding of spiritual principles such as Self Honesty, Open-Mindedness and Willingness; to gain a working understanding of the 12-step process; and to acquire a realistic perspective of problems and their source.
